GETTING STARTED
Welcome! Beginning this first week with emphasis on Vira Rasa~ "May we realize the source of love that mysteriously pours through us the igniting power of bhakti the rasa of the heart regreening a desert, regenerating with one pure drop the bindu of Shiva-Shakti pulsating heart sphuratta...universal throb. May our life be filled with vajra passion May we realize the depth of love The bhakti fire at the core of existence " Tending Vira Rasa: Igniting the Fire Bhava (somatic mood): Warm, engaging, energizing, awakened, naked feeling-states that are often beyond one-word descriptions. These feeling-states have the clear, passionate, present, noble, wisdom-in-action, and expansive heart qualities that inspire us at a deep ancestral and spiritual level. Vira states enable us to face our own shadow tendencies with truth, courage, and the heart of a warrior, unafraid of the dark, contracted, difficult spaces in life. Dosha (constitution): Vira Rasa is a natural mode of being for pitta- or fire-predominant types, but it can cause excess heat, agitation, and burning of one's life-energy if practiced under stress or when one is tired. Vira Rasa is excellent for the kapha constitution to generate energy and stimulate the fire element in one's body and life. Kala/Tala (time and rhythm): Optimal times include the initiation of any cycles as well as the peak waxing energy, morning or before sunset, new moon through full moon, Tuesdays (the day for Mars), or any day of the week when you are naturally energized or when you need to awaken a dim fire. The rhythm of Vira Rasa is activating and steady, supporting the ability to build energy and ecstatic intensity. Desa (where/ecology): Environments of high prana that are naturally energizing. Yoga Practice: Dynamic solar namaskars; Agni Kriya; shaking movement meditation; sequences involving concentration, alignment, and breath. Linear asanas with strong lines such as the warrior family (virabhadrasana), arm balances, standing balance poses, and core cultivation all activate Vira Rasa. Pranayama: kapalabhati, bhastrika, and ujjayi pranayama with retentions. Solar meditations. Living Vira Rasa: Vira Rasa stokes the fires to help us overcome any obstacle, challenge, or regressive habit by encouraging the embodiment of courage, stamina, and steadiness within our daily lives. Beginning this second week with emphasis on Sringara Rasa~ Sacred Space - Sringara Rasa Altar Choose a sacred space to be the reflection and activation of all that you are invoking during this coming cycle. Make an altar for the full and new moons and "refresh" it daily as well as every week in simple gestures of love. Tending your creative altar is part of a view of your entire world as a mandala that includes your body and home. Your personal altar is a great nexus-that connects your inner and outer worlds-a conduit for your creative energy, prayers, and a reflection of your inner process. Allow your altar to have a central focus-a primary symbol of creative energy and sringara rasa. Enrich your altar of Sringara Rasa with images of divine union that are sacred to you within Tantra-Bhakti yoga, (Shiva-Shakti, Radha-Krishna, Sita_Ram, Padmasambhava-Yeshe Tsoygal) in the images of photos of love with your partners or partners to be (call in your heart's desire). Adorn your altar in colors (obviously red around valentines) and honey, water, flowers, candles, juicy fruits that bring the beauty and rasa to fill your home. Let your altar be simple or elaborate, ever-changing, particularly over each weekend or Monday when we begin our sadhana. Love the process of creating a love altar and you inner altar will come alive!
